The things I loved about Seattle!

Alright, when I was in Seattle, I realized that I loved so many things about that city. I had once came to the downtown area, mainly for Pike Place, around two years ago with some friends, but this time I was here to explore a little more.

I am all about the food, and local places that get rave reviews, so I’ll tell you a little about what I found.

    ******Food******
Daily Dozen Donuts - Definitely my favorite place in Pike Place. It is definitely not the most glamorous, but if you like donuts, then this will satisfy your desires to the 10th degree. Basically, they are just little mini donuts that are served to you warm and in a few different varieties—plain, cinnamon-sugar, powdered, or frosted with sprinkles. They are all amazing, but the cinnamon-sugar and frosted are definitely my favorite. I just opted for the assorted dozen which has a few from each. They are served to you in a plain, brown bag for a fairly cheap price! It was only like $3.50 for a dozen of the assorted. You can even go down to like $2.25 if you wanted just the plain. I highly recommend this amazingly great tasting and artery clogging food spot.

Piroshky Piroshky - I was not very clear on what piroshky was before I went here. All I knew was that it was Russian and that the reviews for this place were off the charts. It’s basically and EXTREMELY small bakery that serves up piroshky, a meat or vegetable-filled pastry, or other sweet treats. The dough was absolutely the best part. It was sooo incredibly flaky and tasty. If you wanna try something slightly different, check this place out!

Beecher’s Handmade Cheese - So, the reviews for this place were insanely awesome, too. I saw that they were voted the “World’s Best Mac and Cheese” so, naturally, I had to hit this place up. It definitely didn’t disappoint, but it didn’t blow my mind either. It was pretty spending at $5.50 for 8oz, but it definitely tasted amazing and left me full for the remainder of the day! Great place. Check out their amazing selection of cheeses, too. You can see them making it there, also!

Ivar’s Seafood Bar - This was a little “walk-up” place right on the shoreline that served the typical seafood dishes. I got the fish n’ chips and was pleasantly pleased. It tasted great and the side of clam chowder was awesome, too!

Crab Pot - This was another seafood restaurant right near the water. I was eager to try it because I had heard that the show Man vs. Food had visited this place once. The food was definitely pretty good, and the prices seemed to be more reasonable than the surrounding places. It was heavily centered around crab, shocking I know, and that stuff is expensive so I didn’t really get to try. I was lame and went with a burger, which was amazing, at a seafood restaurant.

    ******Places******
    Pike Place -
By far, my favorite place in Seattle that I have been to was/is Pike Place. That’s where nearly all the food places I talked about above were located. They have everything you can think of here from food to clothes to unique items to fresh fruit to sooooo much more. It’s always also to listen to the street performers play, also. This is definitely a MUST VISIT for anyone who goes to Seattle or lives there.

First Starbucks - If you are a coffee lover (which I am not….yet), this is a must see. It’s where the first Starbucks (in the world) was. It’s a very small shop but you can get some cool little items and blends here. A lot of people take pictures in this place!

Experience Music Project / Science Fiction Museum -
This museum was pretty damn awesome. I really enjoyed seeing all the guitars and stories and things like that. I am not sure if it was worth the price of admission, but seeing all the old souvenirs and instruments was pretty awesome. A lot of it seemed to be centered around Jimi Hendrix, which was pretty cool, but I would have liked to have seen some more variance. The best part, for sure, was the upstairs where you actually got to play the instruments with effects, go into sound rooms, and just jam. That was definitely awesome. The Science Fiction Museum was pretty awesome, too, but I am not as big of a fan with that type of stuff.

Big cities really intrigue me. There is so much to love, and sadly, so much to dislike. I love the tall buildings, culture on every corner, the food, the shops, and so much more. What I don’t like is the loud noise constantly, the sirens going off, and the beggers. It’s really bothersome when you get asked for change or money on every corner. :(

Seattle is an amazing city and is another place that I can say that I have been to and explored. In order to fully understand Seattle, I think I would need to spend at least another week there. However, if you have the chance, visit Seattle!!!
